As a UX Designer here at RollDBox, you will be responsible for contributing to the development of game interface architecture and gameplay feedback design to players ensuring the quality of the game is kept at a high standard, in a close collaboration with the Game Design team.
About the company:
RollDBox is a brand new company, based in Barcelona. We are in the development process of our first video game and assembling an incredible team with this amazing project on our hands. We are aiming to have a high impact on the current game genres while creating high standard games in a value-based company structure. Skills and knowledge:
-Knowledge of information architecture
-Ability to innovate game UI
-Ability to create functional prototypes
-Understanding of lean UX concepts and the ability to work within a continuous flow environment (ability to think holistically while building and learning iteratively)
-Ability to rely on a user-focused business design approach.
-Strong communication and presentation skills
-Self-motivated and personal growth mindset
-Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in UX specialization
User interface and user research:
-Ability to create computer-human interaction guides
-Ability to autonomously create functional prototypes (animations, transitions, screens) that convincingly simulate UI/HUD widgets
-Knowledge of user research methodology (understanding quantitative and qualitative analysis methods, biometrics, user questionnaires, etc.)
Additional Skills as a Plus:
-Knowledge of UE4 interface for programming UI assets
-Skills on user research (applying quantitative and qualitative analysis methods, biometrics, user questionnaires, etc.)
-GitHub management and Jira knowledge
-Agile framework knowledge
-Other languages (Spanish, Catalan)
-Design logic, layout and flow the game’s user interfaces including HUD, menus, and lobby based on information architecture and accessibility principles for a PC video game
-Ensure that signs and feedback clearly communicate the game information based on best practices in accessibility
-Ensure optimal interaction feedback and minimal control latency
-Advise and collaborate with game designer to determine the best controls and inputs to support game features for a fluid and consistent player experience
-Create functional prototypes for rapid iterations on key elements
-Implement an optimal interface layout plan
-Ensure that the interface arrangement accounts for localization constraints
-Account for user feedback and the efficient use of user research services to optimize the game experience
-Working effectively in a small dynamic team
-Contributing to design ideas
-Time and task estimation management
