Game Economy and Tokenomics Designer


Second World is searching for a Game Economy & Tokenomics Designer to play a pivotal role in owning the in-game economy and designing gameplay features for our new city-building play-and-earn game. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Game Producer, as well as the rest of the team, and be responsible for both the gameplay design and economy of our game.

Minimum requirements


- At least 3 years of experience as Game Economy Designer (having worked in play-and-earn games is a bonus!)
- At least one shipped mobile title
- Superior level experience with Excel
- A good understanding of game balancing, free-to-play mechanics, monetization and player motivations
- Experience with Unity
- Ability to unify analytics and player feedback into great, iterative design solution
- Clear communication skills. You work collaboratively with producers, artists, engineers, and other designers to get the best designs possible.

- A positive, open and personable approach to working within a team. True passion for gaming.
- Deep, up-to-date knowledge of the free-to-play market (play-and-earn knowledge is a bonus!)
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Experience in documenting and communicating gameplay mechanics and features

Duties


- Be in charge of the economy model and gameplay features for the overall game
- Help architect the tokenomics system, including monetary policy, in-game currency and other on-chain items such as NFTs
- Perform analyses, forecasts and simulations (Excel, Python, Google Sheets…) illustrating how changes to the policies, incentives, pricing and other key drivers of the economy might influence player behavior
- Quickly prototype design ideas in-game using Unity and iterate through playtesting
- Apply analytics and A-B testing to your designs as we work to improve new and live features
- Create and maintain design documentation templates and supplemental charts/imagery
- Help us build and expand the Game Design Team
- Create in-depth reports and analyses on the key drivers and variables of the game economy
- Identify risks and opportunities and suggest ways to optimize the game
- Keep up on the latest industry-wide mechanics and trends in an effort to continually evolve and improve the studio’s level design expertise
